work getting started on the 99 gs
we start off with (stock gen v)
some time and work with the die grinder and old dremel bits that fit the micro die grinder
hit it with a wire wheel and some carb cleaner to get the residual oil and such off and you can see the process of the shine coming out and this is still in the rough stage
this is where she sits today after doing the smoothing and blending. for those that cant tell i shaved down all the 3 casting areas and smoothed them to give it a more blended look.
I will be doing the exterior for today and tomorrow and then on thursday I will take the case to the machine shop to open the intake up and get rid of the lip then get rid of the h bar on the outlet. I know there is mixed reviews on doing this but I did it on the other one so y not. next section will detail the lim and the work getting done on it
I have prolly a good 15+ hrs into it at this point and this is just the rough stuff the hand sanding and shining isnt even started I will finish the little bit I have to knock out the sand cast layer tomorrow then I will take it to the machine shop thursday and hopefully get it back in a week then really start the finish work and the shiny stuff. I will work on the lim while the case is getting worked then blend the lip on the n* and the adapter to mate up to the new inlet
the to do list lol
in daylight with flash fill
daylight without flash fill
on to the lim
coolant crossover ported and smoothed
smoothed and shiny bottom of the lim less sandcast to have oil hang on
port matched and smoothed lim runners needs to be finished and polished but that will get there
set screws drilled and tapped into the coolant ports
the to do list on the lim is slowly getting smaller but I need to open and match the opening for the cooler and smooth all edges and imperfections. This car will be shiny and look as good as possible when done
the sc housing is at the machine shop so here is the progress on the lim it is looking good if you ask me. I also started on the dogbone mount today but didnt get any pics

well kinda an update there is a 95% chance all this will not end up in the 99 but in a older car that I found for 300 bucks. I think a 300+ hp mid engine sports car would make a hell of a fun ride
