I tried to do one of those really cool, unscientific experiments. I sprayed 500º F engine aerosol paint onto some exhaust pipe to see how it would hold up. After some undocumented amount of miles, the primer gray turned to a slight tan. I'm not sure what that means. So, lesson learned: Don't use engine paint on the exhaust pipes.

I'm not sure how stock they are or which car had them, but I can tell they have been sandblasted, and there are pipes in the back welded at odd angles. They look really nice, and when they're up against the bumper, they conform to the shape very well.

Also, I got a Cherry Bomb resonator. It has a more porous inside than the OE resonator that I had before, and it'* about 2" longer. This is the longest Cherry Bomb I could find, and I paid about $20 for it at Advance Auto Parts. This test was actually done after I ran for almost a whole 24 hour period with just the resonator and no muffler. I put on about 180 highway miles with drone. People kept trying to get out of the way, and it was so awesome to be able to drive straight without changing lanes or tailgating slow drivers. I'm a horrible person...

More unscientific experimentation: A new way to hold on an exhaust tip so that it doesn't move during welding.

I just need a few days of driving, and the inside will be completely black all by itself. ![Very Happy](https://www.gmforum.com/gm/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
As for a video, my video recording camera has a broken lens, so I can only get sound. I'll do that probably today or tomorrow. There'* some nice bass, but it'* very quiet.

I bet it is a "quiet" bass rumble with the cherry bomb as a resonator. You should have used them for the mufflers too! Triple VaaaaRooooom!!!

I was considering it, but I figured I could keep running with the OE muffler, get headers, and then approximate a good location for a cutout. The cutout could get me that crazy sound on demand, but I could go back to something sane shortly after.

QTP » Electric Exhaust Cutouts
Next link has a soound clip. It'* pretty awesome. Bet the NorthStar would really growl.

I have been considering an electronically controlled one. I can right now get one and later attach the motor, so it would until then be just a plate I have to remove manually. Seems like a good idea for drag racing nights at the local track.
I've got more pictures! They're right after a car wash, so the car is still wet. Not the best, but I was running out of sun light.

I did a crazy mod! Not yet polished, but it'* getting there. I tinted the tail lights, and then I covered that with clear coat with metallic flakes. It looks nice, but really badly needs a polish. Probably tomorrow or so.
