yes there are a few rare options on these corvairs...
with mine the face that its a 65 convertible with the corsa option and its also turbocharged with 180hp is probably one of the most desirable ones...but my little bro has a a 65 coupe and his has a very rare option of the factory air conditioning...
im hopin that after im finished with the car and its in mint condition that it would be worth about 20-30k or even more

well the timeline goes wayyyyyy back...well not really probably about 4 yrs ago...we got mine and my bros from my uncle for about a grand...from there it went to my uncles shop and sat in the back parking lot for about a year (ie gold pics) then after that it got moved into the shop and thats where it stayed waiting for me to take apart piece by piece, which probably took about 4-5 months...from there it sat for a bit probably about a year...then finally i got to sandblast it and that took about 2 or 3 months then once again it sat for a bit and from then on it was out of my hands...between now and the time preceding it was when all the bondo and floor pans and welding went on (all stuff i dont exactly know how to do so i leave it to the pros)...and now its in primer waiting for the color...
now the color is a totally different story...the original color of the car after taking all that gold paint off was a light blue. Now my uncle told me that although these cars are rare the big buyers dont particuallrly care about the original colors so i could do whatever i liked...but me and my father decided to keep it light blue...but with a little bit of modernism so its gonna b a GM Blue Metallic (off a 98 or so truck/car)
O and by the way the reason why my car has been sittin for so many months is because my uncle made a deal with me that for every hour of work i put in at the shop he'll gimme an hours work free on the car and plus insted of about 80 or 90 an hr he'll do it for around 60...
But i could go on for days about this car and i cant wait for it to be done..because originally this was supposed to be a graduation present from high school and needless to say im in my sophmore year of college and still waiting...I gotta say i wasnt a fan of corvairs at first but after all ive been through with this car im a die hard corvair fan (as well as bonneville!!!)

This is great....my dad had a 64 Corvair Monza (convertible) , teal blue with a white top. It was in great condition, too bad my dad had to get rid of it when my parents divorced 4 years ago =(. It was a really fun car to ride around in. Back seat was very uncomfotable though =/
Unfortunately my dads just had the twin-single carb engine with 95 hp. I believe he sold it for $8,000, only so cheap because it doesn't have any "rare" options.
God it was a pretty car though. Now he'* got the Triump (av. pic) which is also a really fun car to drive.
SCREW RALPH NADER!!!! =)
