Oh, not really. It'll be a little bit. Our home connections around here are as fast as T1, or a little more, with around 3.8 to 4 mbps download, and 1 to 1.5 mbps up. I just need to get it all set up, and resolve a few issues first. I'm hoping to have it up and running by the end of the year. I used to run a game server for Q3, and this server will be dedicated for audio/video only. Shouldn't take too much.

When you deal with a cable internet connection in bigger cities, sometimes DSL will be faster. But we have our own C/O here in a town with 60,000 people max, and it doesn't reach much past the city limits, where alot of the population live. We have high-speed wireless for those right outside town and beyond. Not much bandwidth useage here, and they have a cap set at the above. And they're really good at removing alot of noise from the cable.

Just a regular run-of-the-mill XP OS using it'* features along with a router to set permissions and allocations. I don't expect to need the balls of server software, but if I need to, I will. Then I'll go with Win software.

Ok, cause I was gonna say, if you are looking for something really secure, go with Apache. I have used it before. And you can control bandwidth and stuff on it.
