You guys are lucky. If I want a winter car all that I could use is a 1987 Nissan Stanza. It'* actually not all that bad, but I hate the brakes (even though they are all new). My dad sold the silver 1989 Lesabre I used last winter to one of my sisters. She needed a car, but she wouldn't have if her and her husband would take care of their cars.
6 years ago they had a 1979 Chrysler Lebaron Medallion Coupe (red with white top) with 46,xxx miles. To demonstrate how ill-care they had for it (or any car) they said they didn't need brakes even after the front calipers froze up (pads wore out, ruined the rotors, and overheated the calipers siezing them up tight). Then there is their truck (1982 Ford F150 I-6 4-spd) that again has no brakes (hitting brake pedal at 55 results in what feels like your on top of one of those big gas powered hammer that contruction crews use to break cement).
It'* been a week now since they've gotten the Lesabre. When the picked up the Lesabre they told dad that in the last 6 years they've only changed oil in their cars maybe 3 times (combined for all the cars they've had). They figured they've racked up over 200,000 miles in that time. They said "....but if we know the car has a leak or burns oil we add a quart once a month). AAAAAAARRGGGHHHH!!!

Hell I don't even go to their house unless I'm riding with someone for fear of me murdering their dog or giving my 5 you niece a severe beating. Whenever I go there either the dog jumps up on the side of the car and my niece insists "..it'* soo fun!" to climb on and all over cars.
No way in hell I'd lend them my car.
