Hmmm, how bout plastic wrap to keep that showroom shine?
I was thinking the same thing Paul, what you should do, is when they are finished detailing the car, ask them for some ideas on how to keep it nice and shiny. And hope for no rain
I got a detailing gift cert. for my dads b-day yesterday. He wants to take care of his new 2000 Jetta VR6, so I figured a day at the spa for his car would be nice. When I was at Finer Details, they had so many differnent packages, and a brochure on maintenance.
See what they have up at your place.
Show us some pics of the detailing too...hee hee

Too bad you're not here in CNY. I have my own auto detailing business, and I charge considerably less than probably ANY shop. Never had one complaint, and I have gotten all my customers from last year coming back this year, and a car dealership is having me do their cars.
I suggest Mother'* brand wax, using the three phase system. Gets rid of embedded dirt particles, oxidation, and surface scratches, seals and deepens the color, and of course the pure carnauba wax shines the hell out of it. There'* a Mother'* brand shiner liquid in a spray bottle. After you wax, and when the car'* dry, apply daily after dusting it and it maintains its shine. The "California Car Duster" comes in handy.
The picture below in my sig was at a car show after I waxed it and detailed it.
Rubbing compound also gets rid of surface scratches and helps clean and shine paint also. I washed my car just about every day last summer. You can wax as much as you want. Make sure you don't use dish soap. Your car should stay looking good. Good luck.

I always wax by hand. It'* safer and cheaper, and just as affective, if not more, since you can get into detailed areas. How much is yours going to cost to get it done?

HOLY *!@#!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $239!! That'* amazing. I don't mean to make you feel bad, but that'* waaaaay more than I thought you would say. If that'* a spring special their regular price must be higher than that!!
I've had customers who have been charged $120 and they were completely unhappy with the results. I charge $72 and do a better and more honest job than detail shops anywhere. Shampoo, dust, shine, wax, engine, wheels, all glass & MORE! People were so shocked how new their cars looked I've gotten $20 tips. I do a $150 job for half the price. I wish I could do yours for you and save you a ton of cash. You would be happier with the results. Good luck, I hope they do a damn good job because for that $$ they should take every microscopic piece of dirt of every inch of your car. Let me know how it goes, and check it over and make sure they didn't miss anything.

bonnie94sse, Was browsing the pics forum and came across your post about your detailing business in Syracuse. I just live right down the road in Endicott. I get up to SYR every so often to visit some of my pilot buddies. We have a big crew base in Syracuse. You will have to send me your address where you are located at and the next time I am in Syracuse will try to stop by for a chat. I got my 92 SE about 3 weeks ago. I used the Mothers gold bar kit a few days ago and I was quite impressed with the results.

I've heard all I can take about that California Duster.
I'll go buy one now. Tomorrow, methinks. I use the California water blade to dry it. Works great. I have two now, so Lilpooky can use one.

i got this new thing, not a shammy, but an "Absorber" It'* orange, and like something swimmers use, or a pack towel for camping. Think of it like a shammy on steroids. And because it'* not leather, it'* washable! It doesn't grow mold either, so you can store it wet as much as you want...
