i've noticed that these engines seem to be lying around everywhere...a dime a dozen where i'm at...so if you calculate the market'* oversaturation, a replacement is probably always cheaper...

its probably that the piston messed up the block because it is seized...
nate has found a motor for me about 45 min away for $400 plus tax... out of a 98 GTP with 100k... mr beans deal sounds good also, but its in michigan, and i want this thing ASAP...
my dad is looking at doing the swap this week/weekend because the car is just taking up space at his shop, and i dont want him to push it outside
things are really turning positive, i hope we can stay on this stream

If the block is somewhat ok, you could always have it bored out with some oversize pistons (I assume they make em for GPs) and some aftermarket heads. :P

My guess would be that the engine was detonating...early signs, like piston was melting.
