97' SLE... seems a little sluggish
What do you guys think? It just got a new (salvage yard) transmission through the warranty company. The 99' Lesabre I was driving as a rental during the time felt a little quicker than this... so she seems sluggish. Transmission shifts great IMO though, and looks shiny and clean .
BTW, I was trying to record the noise that sounded like a vacuum leak, kind of sounds like a turbo, but I couldn't get it with the camera. Friend of mine has an mp3 player that records amazingly... going to try to get me hands on that. It'* done it since I drilled out and gutted the airbox. Here'* what I came out with... you can't hear it, but it has a 30 mph downshift.
I think there'* a bad spark plug/plug wire. When the torque converter locks (on the past 3 transmissions), and you push the pedal down like half way... far enough to accelerate, but not to unlock TC, you can feel a slight... shall we say pulse?

WOT, held on brake with quarter throttle before launch to get things going. I will have to crawl under there some time and check on the gear ratios...

Well... this looks like complete crap, but look what seafoam did:
I don't know... but it sure feels like a heck of a lot of difference. I also heard a tire squeek... slightly less than what I did earlier that left a white cloud lol. Transmission doesn't seem to be quite as sluggish anymore either, shifts a little harder, perhaps it needed broken in? Who knows... I'm a lot happier now though. It still needs a spark plug wire I think though... it still 'pulses' on heavy throttle with tc locked.
EDIT: Photobucket doesn't like the video, I'm going to try and change format and try again.
