So I picked up a pair of toys
My bosses buddy has a home near the winery, but goes to Florida for the winters. He returns home 1 week each winter for Christmas/NY'* so he and his wife are really busy and had no time to ride their matching 1997 Arctic Cat Jag DLX 440'* the past 3 years.
Well, he told me to sell them and I would get a a few hundred dollars for selling them. His starting price was low, so I asked what my price would be,
$1500 was the quote. When I arrived with cash in hand 2 hrs later (got off work, went straight to my bank 30 miles away, withdrew the money, borrowed my brothers Yukon) he told me to take the trailer too (I was going to see if I could borrow it to take te sleds home but hadn't mentioned it yet). It'* a 1999 PDT trailer that he bought new for $1500 and has only pulled the snowmobiles 3 times on since and it has a permanent tag. The couple is in their 50'* so the sleds were not beat. Neither had been started in 3 years, but when I hooked my booster pack up to the battery I used the electric start and they cranked over really nicely. The was one piece of plastic/fiberglass on each sled that needed repair, but it was VERY easy work.
I took them home and my brother and I spent 1 hr and 45 minutes to syphen (SP?) the old gas out, drain the carbs (removed plugs and cranked engine with fresh 3 gallons of 92 octane and 6 oz of Sea Foam in the tank and fuel return line into a pop can).
New NGK BRY9ES (IIRC) plugs installed and they both started on the first pull. One ran really smooth, but the other had a some knocking when revving. Turned out the belt had missing teeth (borrowed good belt and noise went away).
So now all I have left to do is get new carbides, 3 belts (always carry a spare) and one speedo cable, but all will be covered with the $200 cash he gave back to me for making it such a fast and easy transaction, and freeing up garage space.
So, yes, my actual purchase price for the 2 snowmobiles with 2616/2625 miles(with going rates at my local cat dealer of $1400 each) and trailer was ONLY:
$1300!!!!
Here'* a pic I snapped with my LG EnV of them Friday night when I picked them up ( the pic is of them in the storage shed at the winery where he dropped them off Friday when he asked me to sell them for him):

Yes VERY nice score! you need to take a vacation up (its only 20hourof driving away ) here for a few days and drop $90 on a temp trail permit and i'll show you why Ontario has the best snowmobile trails in the world
(more trails here then highways in canada)
However, I don't wanna kill him, as I am VERY brand loyal and will only ever ride DOO

I wish I could get back down to my dad'* more and go riding. We have a '95 ZR700 (twin) that we just rebuilt the clutch in. I've probably put on 10 miles in the last 3 years. :(
