I guess I should have been a bit clearer. Most people would use the grease at the connector fitting, as well as the where the coil packs interface with the ICM, and that'* fine. I was referring to the bottom of the IC, where it mates to the mount.
EDIT - I also remembered something else. I remember seeing some ICMs having heatsink paste on the backside, to transfer heat to the bracket. That too can help you out.
