'67 Corvair Monza 110 Project underway!
Alright, here it is per my post in the lounge. The car looks rough, but we finally have a guy that can help my Dad and I out. He'* one of my Dad'* friends he works with. He is going to help us with the body work and painting, while we do interior refreshening and engine work. So, here it is! It'* actually in better shape than most that people buy to restore.
1.Rust in the door jamb is rust from the bottom of the door, the jamb is NOT rotted like most are.
2. Most of the rust on the car is surface, only 'hole/crumbly crap" rust is behind the front wheels, rear wheels, driver'* floorboard, and around the a few spots of the windshield. Other than that, it'* pretty clean.
3. It has been determined it DOES have 38k original miles, we talked with some older neighbors that were friends with the deceased owners. The car has been sitting since 1980, when the owners became too old to drive (I think 75? in 1980).
4. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is original, the tires, tune up parts, air filter, etc.

That is a very nice looking project car. Very original, unmolested, and complete. That is the best base to work off of. So what are the plans, restore to original, modify, restomod??

Well, we (My Dad, his and I) plan to fix all the rust, repair holes with sheet metal, and bondo what we can't. My dad'* friend owned a body shop for 20 years, and he is going to help us with all the body work and paint. Everything on the underside will be removed, surface rust will be etched, and the whole underside is going to get POR 15'd. The engine and trans is gonna be pulled and cleaned up, and a new gasket and seal kit will be going on the engine. Brake lines, fuel lines, and brakes will be redone. Car will be painted the original color, and interior will be properly redone. We CURRENTLY have a budget of $1600, but have put back $2000 for it in case we go over.

I worded that wrong.
Actually, the only thing the interior needs is carpet. The seats are not even torn, no cracks in the vinyl or anything. Door panels are mint, no rips, and just need the old dust cleaned off. The dash is metal, so no cracks there. Headliner is vinyl, no rips.
