Needed to pick up another set of wrenches today. Got a castle nut that someone rounded off, so I got a set of those grip wrenches. But can't get it on the nut because the axle is in the way. I think I can pull the hub and then move the axle. Then I can get that nut off. What a pain. The other side the ball joint turns so can't get that nut off either. The set I got is the heavy duty set on the left. By the way, these are just my metric wrenches. I have a different drawer with standard wrenches.

Dan, that'* why I always keep junk wrenches around. To destroy! If the 3/4 don't work right, by golly, I will pound that 17mm on.

Once again, pounding it on isn't an option. There is, I would say less less then a 1/4" between the top of the castle nut and the axle. Just no room to do anything. The axle slides in the hub, so if I remove the hub I can just pull it off. Then I will have no problem.

Not a socket, open-end wrench. And I'm aware of that castle nut your talking about. I had to beat a 17mm on mine yesterday just to be able to get it loosened up.

I thought about it, but the nut is not only rounded, but domed as well. Anything I put on it just pops off the top. I tried I think it was a 13/16
