Saturn outlook help
3.6l v6 just recently did a timing chain cover replacement (just the cover gasket, no chains) when i put the engine and everything back together, the vehicle throws a p300 and barely stays running. most of the time it shuts off. What are some places i can look to start troubleshooting it. it just started missing. new plugs as well

How many miles on it?
Who did the work?
Is the person that did the work good at this sort of thing or a first timer?
What was/were the symptom(*) that caused the replacement to be necessary?
Are there any other active codes stored?
Are there any pending codes stored?

130k on the odometer. It'* my uncle'* vehicle, and he challenged me to reseal the timing cover. I wouldn't say I'm the best, but I've done a few timing cover jobs before with success. It was leaking oil in almost every seal, so that'* what prompted the idea of "resealing the engine". he was sick of the leaks and spending a lot of money on engine oil, so he figured to just pay upfront to get it done. There were no other codes except for p0300. Vehicle has never had any other engine codes. I'm beginning to think that i possible had the coil pack wires on the wrong coil causing the ignition timing to be off thought. Im not sure though

It'* kind of hard to mix up wires on that engine, but it'* possible. I'd suggest you go through and check all connections, especially stuff around any of your work. None of that stuff really wants to move around after being cooked for 130,000 miles.

Shotgun is throwing parts at it. Meter is testing.
