"using a cheater bar on the puller" . . . I assume you mean a breaker bar on the socket that is turning the hex head of the puller?

I mean a length of pipe on the end of the breaker bar that is turning the socket so you can get some mechanical advantage. You want a 4' breaker bar, not a 24" one.

Ah I see.

By my math that would give me leverage of somewhat above 800 pound-feet of torque which would roughly translate to 6,400 pounds of force pulling outward on that hub (after frictional loss in the threads). Something tells me that I'll regret applying 6,400 pounds of force to any part of my poor Outlook. I'll probably stick with my 24" and keep my ambitions around 2,000 pounds or force.

I watched a You-tube video with a dude trying to get the hub off. He had a large pipe wrench that he put on the top of the rotor then hit it with a 12 lb. sledge hammer it took off the hub. So it may break that rotor loose

Ps anyone have any idea on removing a stuck hub on 09 traverse LT FWD tried a 5 lb. slide hammer for hours & hours

Hi MikeK, I referred you to this for reference for all of the stuff I tried on a 2007 Outlook as it is the exact same thing as your 2009 Traverse in this regard. We don't want this thread getting confused with your original request and we don't want to bump this 2 year old thread per the forum rules athttps://www.gmforum.com/introduction...-first-304557/ .

Thread closed.
