Keep in mind Bill, even though the VE table is used when a MAF fails, it is also used at the moment you floor it. It uses VE to determine the AFR for the air between the valves and the MAF until the air flow from the MAF reaches the valves.

That'* the same core I have sitting here. IIRC it'* open.
Take the end off your EGR if you still have it. The part that used to get bolted to the LIM, cut the tube and take it off. Then put some rtv aroudn the LIM hole and put a penny on it. Then bolt that EGR piece to hold the penny. Presto..easy block off plate that looks stockish.
See if that helps.
Meanwhile I'm trying to think of where else you might have an issue that woudl cause you to run lean. Vaccum or battery cable etc.

The seal under the supercharger below the snout to the IC plate is VERY narrow. Only way I've ever got this area to seal good is with red RTV. It'* about 1/8" there.

YOu have a great point there Dan. On that current build, I suggested to the customer that I do what I've done to a couple other LIM'*. Add material.
By adding the material and making your own gaskets, then using Permatex 26B, I have never had a vacuum leak or sealing issue of any type. You may have to look close at the picture. The JB Weld blends into the color of the manifold pretty well.

After dealing with ZZfail gaskets I started making my own. I add extra meat on that side, ya, it sticks out a bit, but that helps keep it rigid. Thin layer of RTV top and bottom of gasket, put supercharger in place, snug up bolts a little. then wait a half hour, then torque. Not had a single leak that way.

the car has been running with with egr like that for about 10k miles, but i will def look into that, and as for sealing the SC to the LIM, i did use RTV on both sides of the gasket to seal it out but i will double check that tonight and spray lotsa carb cleaner in there and c if that changes anything.
if i have a vacuum leak, shouldnt that effect my boost? or not really?

Depends on the leak. When mine had a leak there MAF cleaner didn't really change the RPM much, but I could see the liquid being sucked in. Also, I could hear it when I shut the engine off.

It would be more of a hiss for a few seconds. A squeak would likely be a pulley going out. Remove the belt and check each one. A coupler going out would sound like rocks. You can test that by removing the belt and moving the pulley back and forth, you will feel the play if there is any.
