Post LED makeover 2006 Grand Prix GT

Ok so I finally decided to do the LED makeover that I have wanted to do for years.
I know I still need to get my new hood and front end on, I'll get to that, and a paint job soon.
But for now I'll try to share what I have used, how well they work, etc... So if any others have a Grand Prix GT they want to switch to LED'* they'll have some suggestions to help them.

FRONT END
------------------
Fog Lights: I went with TECHMAX 881 LED Fog Light Bulb,886 894 898 DRL 6000K Xenon White 2800LM 60W 320°Beam.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082HPY68F

Installing these was simple, you will want to remove those plastic rings on the new fog lights, else the fit is too tight with the rubber that is already there.
So far they look good, but to be honest they add very little light to my setup because I have LED Low Beams, but they do look awesome when on, and they add a lil lower left and right hand light...

Signal Lights in Fog Light Housing: I went with Alla Lighting 3156 3157 LED Bulbs 3000lm Extreme Super Bright Turn Signal Lights for Cars Trucks T25 3057 3457 4157 4057, Amber Yellow.....
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WYRCZ2M
I still have to install these, may get to them during the work week, may be Saturday.
I went with Amber because the original bulbs were Amber, even if they were white, I still would have went Amber, while white LED'* will make the amber signal a bit brighter, it looks washed out, the Amber is a bit brighter than stock, and looks really good, from what I have read..
Both of these will need the iBrightstar 50W 6ohm Load Resistors installed.

Headlamps: My choice is pricey, but worth it, got them for 64$ each on Prime Day
Low Beams - I went with HIKARI Ultra LED Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit -HB4/9006, Prime LED 12000lm 6000K Cool White -- Eyes Of Megatron
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VSF5BB2
You need to remove the plastic clip from the bulb, and use needle nose to twist it into the housing the way you'd do a bulb, then the light slides into it, install and turn until the light stops turning, look and the part with the led'* on it should be vertical like an I and not horizontal like ---
If you do that, and get within 25 ft of a wall, measure up 4 ft and put a line of tape, adjust bulbs till the top of them just hit that 4 ft mark, do this and even in the stock housing you are not going to blind anybody.
NOTE: These are not DOT 3 compliant, so during Inspection swap in your old headlight bulbs.
These are a big difference, I was running Phillips Crystal Vison, and these are much brighter on the road, I can see deer really well now.

HIGH Beams - HIKARI Ultra LED Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit -HB3/9005, Prime LED 12000lm 6K Cool White
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077B7GJ5J
I thought lights could not get any brighter till I cut these on, LOL I can see for a long way..
The fans on them are good, so they should stay cool and run fine for a long time, so far I have only had them in a few days, but I have no complaints.

Side Marker: In Headlamp Housing - I went with SIRIUSLED 194 LED Bulbs Extremely Super Bright 3030 Chipset for Car truck Interior Dome Map Door Courtesy Marker License Plate Lights Compact Wedge T10 168 2825 Xenon White Pack of 10
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0186P1MUW
I am not sure if they are the best 194 LED'* out there, but they got good feedback and reviews.
I am putting these in the front side marker soon, I did not have them in when I did my headlights.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inside of Car. 2 Dome Lights, and each light over each rear door.
SIRIUSLED 194 LED Bulbs Extremely Super Bright 3030 same as for my side marker lights.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0186P1MUW
They look a lot better, I wanted to be cool and go blue, but I like to see when I need to, so far the only bulbs left to replace are my vanity mirrors, need to find out what bulb they are,,
I do want to do my Dash and all one day, but not for a while...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rear Brake Light Assembly: UXITO LED Tail Light Bulb 3157 3156 3056 3057 3047 4057 4157 LED Bulbs for Stop Brake Tail Light, Brilliant Red (Pack of 2)
For the 2 Brake Lights I went with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V67K1L7
Both look amazing, I did have to hook up a iBrightstar 50W 6ohm Load Resistor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HF47RV9
Installed one each lower bulb in the housing, as they are the turn signals, without them you will get hyperflash, do not bother trying to find a relay to fix this, ours is controlled in the BCM..
I'll get pics eventually to show the wires, if you look you will see a black and yellow wire that come from the main harness connector, and run to the lower bulb, the other wires connected to it go to the upper bulb, and then to the lower, you want the two I mentioned at first...
NOTE: The resistors will get as hot as the bulbs did, so find a way to keep it out of the way of all wiring and plastic.
My plan is when I rewire mine, and I go with my male/female crimp connectors to be able to switch back and forth if I ever need to go stock again, I will then get something like a #4 3/8" screw, a self tapping one, and mount the resistors in a spot where I see they can cool easily, but not be close to burning anything, or exposed to the elements.

Rear Marker light in brake light housing is a 194, so I popped in a SIRIUSLED 194 LED Bulb.

Rear Backup Lights:
I went with JDM ASTAR Extremely Bright 144-EX Chipsets 3056 3156 3057 3157 LED Bulbs with Projector for Backup Reverse Lights, Xenon White
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NPIUFMM
They look great, light up the are behind me when I back up a lot better than the stock ones did..And they look awesome!

License Plate Tag Lights: For these I went with the SIRIUSLED 194 LED Bulbs Extremely Super Bright 3030.
Good thing I got a pack of 10, when I out them in the front side marker area all 10 will have been used, I may grab an extra 10 pack just in case any blow out...

So far I have had no issues with anything, well other than once the dome lights did get lower and flicker a little, but this was when I started cutting them back on via the button, if you open a door to cut them on there are o issues, I'll try to recreate the dome light issue, but either way to me they work when I need them to, when I open the doors...

I'll try to get videos and pics soon, especially for the resistor wiring. to the signal lights..

Thanks for stopping by ART!

I took a video, but I may just do pics, that or cover my tags, I don't like to show any personal info like that on the net, ya never know....
I got my resistors in today, I will install them soon, I may wait and do it Sat, that way I can cut the wires and make my female and male connectors so i can easily connect it up either way, not that I ever see myself going back to regular bulbs, but just in case I want the option available, and it to be easy to do..
I also need to find a nice cool place to mount my resistors..
That reminds me I meant to look for some 3/4" self tapping metal screws at work...

Ya know for some reason I almost want to swap in a GPX instrument panel, because it says 160mph instead of 140mph, LOL

Following.

I've been thinking of converting my cars to LEDs, but want them to look fairly natural, not bling'd out over-bright and over-dark LEDs.

They are a crisper color IMO, and if you get amber bulbs for amber housing, and red for red housing, no matter if the bulbs normally white, then they are just right, not too did like most factory halogen, and not too bright like using white LED'* behind colored lenses.
Of course you can search for LED'* with lower lumens, but the brighter the better if you follow what I said above, I found this to be true from a bit of research.

https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/bl...nd-a-red-lens/

Same research was done for Amber..

https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/bl...ns-with-video/

Now for interior they are quite bright, and for backup lights they are also, but for those intended purposes this is what I need..

For headlights if you want the best of the best go for Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0 LED Headlight, they are like 135.00 each though...

Here is a good link to go to and input your make and model, and see what bulbs you need, also at the very bottom see if turn signal flashers are available for your vehicle, for me they are not an option, and I have to go with resistors because the BCM controls my lights..

If I had felt like spending more I would have went with as mentioned Morimoto, but I can't help but look at GTR as well..
For low beams with no limit to what you spend, and you want the best, then for bulbs consider...

Took a few pics, none of the rear turn signal flashing, and I have not installed the amber bulb in the front fog light housing yet, nor the side marker light in the headlamp housing, but I will do that ASAP.
The rear left side brake light pic is a lil funny looking because my exhaust was cranking exhaust out, I should have cut it off, lol

Man is it bright, I see I need to clean my leather seats now, lol

Nice and red, both brake light bulbs are Red LED'*

All but yellow lights are LED, yellow light will have an amber LED in it soon.

Backup lights look washed out in this pic, but they are not, they look perfect.

That is a "night & day" difference. Huge improvement over standard bulbs, Wow let there be light!
The red brake lights are also very impressive. Nicely done !

Thanks Art, I'll try to get pics that do the redness justice, the exhaust made it look bad..
I'll also eventually get pics to show where to wire the resistors in place, and I still need to mount the resistors somewhere safe, I have to put some good female and male connectors on, I am temporarily using T Tap'* or whatever they call those worst connectors you can use...
I thought I had my front right, but instead of stripping a small part of the wire and testing it, I went with what looked correct, I did not get lucky like I did with the rear, but I know the wire I need to switch one end of the resistor to...
