This is for my 2006 Grand Prix GT
I have gotten a bit tired of the poor feel of my steering, and how I bottom out a bit when going over railroad tracks and bumps, also tired of the clicks I feel anytime I touch my steering wheel.
I will jack it up soon and check out the tie rods, sway bar link, control arm, ball joint busing, etc..
Regardless of what I discover I have decided since I have the money I should go ahead and replace everything now, since I am 99% sure everything on it has been on it since it was made, 14 years ago, 160k miles ago...
I am up for suggestions on part changes, but for the most part I am sure of the best parts to get.
Inner and Outter Tie Rods = AC Delco Professional
Stabilizer Bar Link = AC Delco Advantage
Stabilizer Bas Bushing/ Bar to Frame = AC Delco Professional (Unless somebody thinks Moog'* or another brand would be better..
NOW I want to also replace my control arms, unless you guys think I should inspect them, and just get the ball joint and control arm boots separate, and rent or buy a cheap kit to press in the bushings myself..
I see a few brands of control arms if I were to replace the whole thing. Moog , AC Delco Professional, or as RockAuto lists them GM GENUINE...
For GM Genuine, the most expensive arm says Fits Front Left Lower; Ride & Handling Suspension (FE2)
or Front Left Lower; SPECIAL SUSPENSION(FE4)... I am pretty sure this is the right one, I think mine is the sport suspension AKA Special Suspension, this one says 34mm, so I assume they are referring to my 34mm sway bar..
These are 145.00 each
I can get the AC Delco Professionals for 60$ each, and the Moog'* are 52$ each
It looks like Ball Joint and control arm bushings come to around 65.00 per side, and they would require me to rent or buy a tool which can press both out and in, which I am not sure which Kit I could need to do so.
Question, are my original control arms steel, and the cheaper AC Delco Pro'* Aluminum?
If so for durability I'd be better of pressing in new boots myself, and invest in another tool....
Lastly my Struts, I found some Moog I like, the Monroes look a lil cheap, but I still am not sure if I should go with Monroe, AC Delcos, or KYB..
I am leaning towards the MOOGST8648 , they are like 133.00 each though...
I still have my CV shafts in the back of my mind, the whole rack really, because it had a leak, and I did something I hate myself for, I used Lucas leak sealer on it, because I am not ready to tackle a while rack and pinion job...
Suggestions, or questions are appreciated.
If you think I should just track down the noise maker and replace just whatever it is then let me know, or if you argre at 160k miles replacing all the frond end suspension is a decent idea, then also let me know..

I've put KYB on a couple of cars and they've been good . . . ~50,000 miles between them so far.

I found some decent priced KYB Quick Struts Plus for the rear, but I am not finding any quick struts for the front.
I am not opposed to building the strut myself, as long as my old springs with 160k miles are still good, I figured they'd be worn a bit by now, so quick struts would be a good idea..
I could get these for the front, but whet else do I need, strut boot kit, strut mount plates, coil spring isolators and spacers?
I could buy new Delco Springs, but they are like 100.00 each..
I'd also have to buy a spring compressor tool, I am fine with buying tools though, good investments.

I could put KYB on back and Moog on the front, Amazon says these do not fit, but other places say they do, MOOG Strut and Coil Spring Assembly, Model Number: ST8648
They just say front struts though, so I am not sure if me having 17" rims matter though, for some shocks they say no 17" or 18" rims

Ok, so if I am going to do all 4 struts, what do I need to get along with the strut part?
Do people sometimes reuse the billow and strut mount, or is it best to buy new ones?
I see KYB has more than 1 listed srtut billow kit, but I believe SB104 is the one I'd need for the rear.
And for the front billows KYB SB127...
For front mount kt.. KYB SM5143
That is like 113.00, not a lot less than a quick strut really, plus I'd need the spring tool, I am not sure which route to take really, I like saving money and buying tools, but I work a lot so I have just a little time on the weekend where I can tackle these jobs..
I could always borrow my bros spare truck if something takes longer than expected I guess...

Get all of the parts you'll be taking out except the reusable bolts and nuts. The last thing you want is to swap everything, get it realigned, then have a mount bearing or some other $0.07 part go out.
