changed crank sensor now no tach
2001 se
changed ckp today with no crank relearn.
drove to friends and it ran great better than it ever has since i got it with no codes or problems. same on ride home. sat in driveway hooking up stereo w just key to acc or run every now and then.
went to start it and no tach. usually when it did this id shut it off and start it back up and it works. this time nothing went and unhooked sensor and started it and shut it off and hooked it back up and still nothing.
oh and its sluggish again like when old sensor would cut out and tach would drop off. it was always intermittent then ( shut it off n back on and it was gone)... now its constant.
could this be because i didnt do the crank relearn?

If I understand this correctly, the tach worked after the new CPS was installed (for a short time) and then stopped working when you were installing a stereo system???
Are you sure you didn't blow a fuse?

2kg4u your correct i think something happened during stereo install but idk what.
i messed w the fuse box under back seat only looking for fuses that had power from accessory to run on ign. the switched power wire from my ribbon adapter dont get power unless stock radio is in i dont understand why and adapter has 4 grounds and 2 yellow memory/ constant batt wires
on my way to work today i realized all my small gauges (fuel, water temp, oil psi, & volts) work but my tach and spedo dont work but today its running fine so what do gauges have to do with the ribbon connector for the stereo? the gauges sweep properly when i turn key on so its not a fuse

ended up finding the problem with the gauges... it has not been sluggish since that night in the drive way. im just going to ignore it n blame it on a low battery possibly causing it.
now the stereo is a different story... anyone know where i should post on issues with installing aftermarket radio and wireharness with the ribbon adapter? the red switched power wire does not get power unless factory stereo is plugged in.... and other issues with dimmer and so on

still isn't as nice as i once remember.... this was my grandparents car at one point. i took my diving test in this car about 10 years ago. Ive driven it off and on since it was bought new in late 2000 as a 2001 model. so i definitely want to make this car fun and last.
but anyway when i get on it hard its not quite as strong as what it used to be before ckp went out.
