As you may know, my Fiero has a L67 out of a 94 Bonneville in it. Well today I started it to move it and the exhaust smells HIGHLY of fuel (i.e. running very rich), and the exhaust is barreling smoke. Is this is a possible injector stuck open? All I did within the last few days was change out the injector o rings, nothing else. Now also, my FPR line is kinda loose fitting, could this be the problem? I do have a old cat installed on it to quiet it down, but I know it isn't the cat causing this, as its a fairly new one off a 94 SSEi from a JY.

Further diagnosis is that the PCV is covered with gas when i pulled it out, and there is a very strong smell of gas down where the PCV sits. I know this isn't right. Sounds to me like the FPR failed?

Tested the FPR with a vacuum pump, Doesn't leak down, so FPR can be ruled out.

Can gas in the oil cause a spun rod bearing? I think I hear a slight clattering.

Sounds like a possible knock. Could it be because of the thin, gas contaminated oil?

I'm sure gasoline in the oil isn't a good thing but I think it would take a fair amount to do engine damage. Is the oil level high?

Although not an L67 or GM for that matter, my gf'* rice rocket had a very similar problem. When started the car would barrel out smoke, also LOTs would come out while driving, it smelled like fuel and it was white. Through troubleshooting, we found that one o2 sensor wire was burned through from the exhaust.

New wire = Problem solved, this might be something you want to look at.

Oil, Valvecover, sparkplug condition and dent in oil pan.

Had that problem with an old Ford truck.

Was the fuel pressure regulator - usually located on the fuel rail

They can be tested. I don't know how
