2008 Torrent power window issue
My power windows will intermittently work/not work. This affects ALL windows from the center console. It doesn't appear to affect other systems like door locks.
I checked the "fuse" but it is not the visible type. Turns out that the specs label this as a 2-bladed Circuit Breaker. The meter showed continuity As this is a cheap item, I'd replace it as a troubleshooting step. But I can't find a replacement anywhere - even on the GM parts website. Can anyone give me the number or proper description for this part so I can get another one?
I also measured the voltage and current going through that circuit. I don't know what spec is for it. The readings on my Fluke are:
14.7V
6 A

First I'd check the connection with the driver-door controls and their plugs.
Then, a lot of folks out there with your Torrent'* less-exotic sibling (the Equinox) seem to find broken wires in the flex-boot between the door and the body, perhaps continue there. Since it is all of them affected I'd say check the one on the driver door first.
After that you'll need to start troubleshooting with a test light.
Perhaps some others that work on these more often that I do will chime in with other ideas.
Also:
How many miles on the car?
Has it been is deep water recently?
Has it had any other trauma that you are aware of?
How long have you owned it?

Mostly answered in other thread. No deep water runs that I know of.
Based on the specific items not working, I was thinking a BCM issue. What do you think?

Just saw in the other thread:
Did the windows and locks work immediately after completing this?
Either way, I'd check wiring and connections in the driver door even more now. Maybe something went back together a bit loose then vibrated loose from driving, slamming, when the . . .
. . . or etc.
Did the new speakers come with a new stereo head unit or other accessories that had to be sliced into factory wiring?

When I replaced the Stereo, it was using a Crutchfield harness. When I did the doors, I simply cut the old wires near the old speakers and pigtailed new wires on to attach the new speakers. I didn't mess with any other wiring bundles. The door locks, windows and rear wiper worked fine for 2 weeks after I installed the new stereo.
By the way, if the BCM requires replacement, does it have to be re-flashed by a GM dealer? I've heard both ways about this issue.
