I have the series I engine. It is a 1995 with the hybrid ODB 1.5. I thought the CASE learn was for 1996 and up. Of course I'm not sure. This is the year that has some features from ODB I like the connector under the dash but also some features of ODB II like being able to pull some live info on the Actron scanner while driving. I will go with your recommendation but I wanted to double check.

theres got to be some kind of pressure regulation. maybe its unique enough to be stealer only. and given the cps is alot cheaper and a known failure item i would start there if it was mine.

Well, if my wife is ever here long enough I will poke around, and try to get my fuel pressure tester on it. I also noticed a little surging when in cruise, and this is a symptom of a bad crank sensor.

OK, got the Montana up on the ramps and took a look. Followed the fuel line from the tank until it went up the fire wall. No FPR. Guess what else it doesn't have. A shrader valve. Nice, can't even test the fuel pressure. Only way I could is to unhook it and make a adapter that I can put in and connect to my tester.

This won't necessarily help your situation Dan but I got the Crank sensor changed out and that was the problem. Your post helped me in my diagnosis.Hopefully mine will help yours since the symptoms seem to be the same. Thanks

Oh almost forgot, one way to check for the CPS is to drive it for a short distance, park it (at home) wait 5 mins or so to allow the heat to build up and if it doesn't start tap on the area near the CPS and it will probably start. That'* what my mechanic did.

I'll give that a shot. What I need is a chance to get the oscilloscope hooked up and see what shows up. Lucky for me the sensor is right in front of the engine, looks like a bolt and it pops out.
