When you are in there just replace the entire assembly.....sender and all. I would suggest dropping the tank and clean it out good also.

That'* the plan just wondering if anyone has installed the Carter because the hose hookups look so short.

If you can see where the lines connect to the module where they go up to the top of the tank then you'll probably want the long one. If the lines go on top of the tank and you can't see where they connect you'll want to use the short ones.

If you see metal lines coming off the top of the gas tank, then you will know which one you have....

I have used Carter before and worked fine. That was AFTER a failed BOSCH pump that only lasted 6 months. I will NEVER use any BOSCH products again on these 3800 based cars as I've also had one of their plus 4 spark plugs fail as well.

Just wondering how these 2 pumps can be so different on the top but both be direct replacements, have never changed before so don't know what original looks like.
The part that is pictured at the top of the page is for a 2000-2005 Pontiac. I just looked it up at Auto Zone. It'* the pump module for my 2001 Buick LeSabre. The one at the bottom is correct.
