02 bonneville ssei rpm issue
Got a 02 bonneville ssei, replaced the nose snout last night due to the bearing givings out. got everything together and went to start it. warmed up within 2 minutes and after getting up too temp in park or neutral, the rpms would gradually increase to almost 3000. can put it into gear and drive but feels like the car trying to take off on its own and making it harder to stop. checked all vacuum lines along with throttle cables. everything was still how it should be. the maf has been disconnected for sometime(still need to get it programmed) but kinda running out of ideas. I know the tps was still good from before and iacv just not fully sure if its woking right. tried running codes and only thing coming up was an egr code. not a big deal at the moment. any help would be appreciated

I’ve had it unplugged before even removing the nose snout since it was running it with it connected. If it’* plugged in then it’ll stall the car. Still will so left it off for the time being to get it recalibrated eventually but car still will raise to 3500 on its own and sit there

Since you were messing around in top of it, I wonder what would happen if you disconnected the throttle cable and the cruise control cable from the throttle body and tried it.
Either way, I wouldn't go slamming it into gear at 3,000RPM any more. The RPM issue would be the least of your worries.
