What shot do you want?
BTW, there was ZERO stretch that I can determine on the timing chain. No visible wear on the links, gears, or tensioner, either.

A front shot of the timing cover, right where the water pump would sit. On the S2'* I've noticed there appears to be a ridge that looks worn, however..have seen that on far too many. Wanted to know if S1 also had that indent.
This could be considered stretch, although I haven't put my new chain on to double check.

That'* not stretch. I layed the new chain adjacent to the old one. They're identical in every way. Stretch is usually obvious in those circumstances.
I know what you're talking about on the S2'*. I don't have that (though I've seen it on S2'*). I shot a buncha more pics before I left for work. I'll get 'em up shortly. There'* a press and a nosedrive calling my name right now.

A few more pics showing the balance shaft gears, timing gears, and timing cover.
Very slight wear apparent from the timing chain on the teeth:

These will be replaced along with the chain.
Balance shaft and cam gears. No apparent wear whatsoever:

Timing cover. Note the front seal at the bottom of the cover (where the seal was before removal). This was very close to starting to drip.

My front main seal was in stellar shape with no signs of wanting to consider any drip. Good pics...I'll be reviewing my timing gears tonight. ps..my dampener looks pretty well used as I notice yours has at least a shiney spot. Will you be replacing the dampener?

Can't even feel any wear on the tensioner with my fingernail. Still up in the air on replacing that right now. Spring tension is great, too. Finances are a bit tight right now, so I don't have the luxury of replacing components on a whim at this point.
Doesn't the timing cover look fooking NEW inside? I was impressed.

Today was a 'do it all' day. A little bit of everything. Stripping the new SC'* nosedrive for modification and rebuild, adding a little JB Weld insurance to the Cam position magnet in the new Cam sprocket (and baking before install), stripping gasket material, installing the timing set, and other highly-classified work. A few pics that include drilling and tapping the new magnetic fill and drain plugs in the nosedrive:

Goodness. What'* this? Greyhare noticed it this morning. The M62 nosedrive stud that goes through the alternator bracket would have a hard time holding on to these COMPLETELY stripped out threads:

After drilling, it was time to tap the new threads for the first magnetic plug:

Wow, looks excellent!
Chain looks just as tense as the old stock one....these must not be a high wear item in our engines.
