With Woodburn'* timing system, .000 is perfect, not .500

2000SilverBullet ran full street trim. Lower tires, tricked elc, and disconnected wheel speed sensors. Nothing more. He carried his jack and spare.

Reaction time off the top of his head( May have some small changes later )

Willwren .151

2000 silver bullet .175

Driverjohn .240

Pdad .360 (not sure on this one....I think it was lower)

Also they all ran in street trim, with all of the junk in the trunk, 2000 silver bullet was the only one with less than half a tank of gas... lol
Correction - 2000 SilverBullet reaction time was .157 ...a very close second :P

Ok, he didn't do anything to save any weight like pulling the spare or anything, so that time does seem about right. What exactly does "tricked elc" mean anyways? I see that a lot of the 2000+'* are saying they did that, but i don't know what that is, maybe it would help. When we ran the SSEi all we did was drop the front tires down about 5psi, then pull the spare & jack out of the trunk and turn the TCS "off."

Have 3 people sit on your open trunk lid. Wait for the ELC to adjust the rear strut pressure up to compensate, then pull the ELC fuse before they get off. Helps with weight transfer. I did this with Greenzilla, too.

The traction on the SSEi is never fully disengaged unless you disconnect your front wheel speed sensors. You probably only really need to disconnect one to disable the system, but do both to be sure. You can reach them by simply turning the wheels full-lock and reaching in.

Now you have to be alot more careful not to break traction, but if you manage it right, you can get alot better launches.

I knew what the wheel speed sensors did, but I didn't know that a year and a half ago when we ran the SSEi, so all we did was turn the button off, which doesn't do much. The tricked ELC I also knew about, I just didn't know thats what it was called I guess. Thanks for the help with that. If we ever do get the SSEi back to the track we will have to try doing those things.

Yup. I had it written down right, just lost some transferring numbers to Don on the phone. That .006 seconds could have been simply the tire tread wear difference between our cars breaking the lights differently!

Another small correction.
I didn't do anything with my ELC. In fact, I discovered after the race that my ELC is not functioning, which was why I dragged my exhaust tip going over a few driveways with a full load.
It seems that, in order for it to pump, I have to manually press the trunk AIR button with the key in the on position. It will then turn on and pump until I turn off the ignition or press the button again.
I tried this again last night. It raised the rear from a wheel arch lip to ground measurement of 28" to 31". I suspect during the races I was sitting low.

O'Neil, This may be a clue on how to trick this ELC into doing what we want it to.

I plan on taking it to the dealer for a warranty repair.

Paul, I suspect your selector valve is stuck in the wrong position. It'* mounted on the rear seat back in the trunk (or is on my car). Did it get disconnected while loading or unloading for the trip?

When you press the ON button for air, the selector valve switches from struts to the outlet valve, and turns the pump on. Sounds like yours is simply turning the pump on, but leaving it in the default strut selection.

Yes, Isn't that cool in a way. :P
Now if I can just rig up a manual switch so it could be that way when I wanted it to be, then I could jack up the back end manually like I can now.

I'll check for that selector valve. Thanks.
