I will also add my 02 cents in here as well. When you purchase from Intense you also receive a big intangible called Customer Service. I have purchased two items from Intense, so far, and I am not a big customer by any stretch if the imagination. Intense made me feel like I was as important as the guy that orders the 3K transmission or a Heads package.
I had to use them for a quick question on the Performance Package I purchased and my e-mail was answered promptly with more information I needed to make the correct decision.
The bottom line is Intense is not just about quality parts for our cars. They also have top shelf customer service which is a hard combination to beat in today’* marketplace.

I just want to point out here that my issue is not with people making their own FWI or CAI. My opinion is that if you want to build your own setup you should certainly go ahead and do it which is why we offer most of our parts as seperate items for those do-it-yourselfers.
My issue is with the comparison of our FWI tubing to a substandard product and the guarantee that it is the same stuff. It isn't.

If you want to use this tubing in your setup fine, if you want to let people know that you have found an alternative tubing that you think works as well as ours fine, if you want to share a find that you feel benefits the community fine, but don't post and make it sound like we are ripping off the community.

My due appologies, it was not my intension, however, after re-reading it I can definitely see how it can be percieved that way. I will keep my research to myself from now on.

You might have found a similar product that might work but remember that not all materials and products have equal quality.
I buy ducting for industrial purposes that is built to much higher standards and materials than can be purchased by the normal consumer.
The last quality, application specific 8" ducting I bought was $100 per foot.
4" ducting only has about half the amount of material if you base it simply on circumference.
$15 per foot is cheap in comparison.
......I say use whatever you can afford.

But we also need to call it what it is.
It'* important to know what characteristics a good intake should have. If the tubing selected might hurt performance, it should be stated.
The person asking would then need to decide what'* more important for them. Performance or Budget.
