Tire time
Ok I got a little extra cash so its time to get some very needed tires.
The original plan was to get replacement 225/60/16 tires in an H or V speed rating for performance all-season driving. Well after speaking in person with a GTP owner running Perelli'* with a size of 245/50/16 I got to thinking...
He said he loved the control improvement he had over the car and that the speedo was only off 2mph at 60mph, which isn't bad. Then we discussed how the smaller diameter tire acts like taller gears when you race at the track. True statement?
I ask because if this is the case I'll just slap on the 245/50/16 Nittos off my old 94 onto my 98. I've been reluctant to do so because I'm worried it will negatively affect my 1/4 mile times. I need some insight on this subject please.
I know for a fact though that the wider tires on my 94 did wonders in cornering.

actually a shorter tire acts as a shorter gear ratio, but 245/50s wont be a huge difference....However youre 16x7 wheel is a bit narrow for that wide and low pro a tire...it will work, but you will liekly see alot of wear in the center of the tire after driving for a while, especially is you drive like I do
