Suspension time
Come June, the car is going in for some work.
It needs new struts (all 4), new front ball joints, new tie rod ends inners and outers, and it needs a stab bar kit.
Struts look like they will be Monroe Sensitracs
Ball joints, end links, inners and outers will be MOOG.
Any bushings will be OEM ones, I tried all day not to long ago to find aftermarket for this car, I can't at all. No one here carries energy suspension either.
I will probably have a shop do this, as I do not have a spring compressor handy for me to use.
It will get a 4 wheel alingment afterwards to. Its gunna be like new
My questions for you are...
Do I need to purchase the strut installation kit?...Will I need Strut bearings...?
What should I buy to go along with the struts, or what will be required?
Thank You.

autozone and advanced have free rental on specialty tools like spring compressors.
you basicly buy them, and return them, except they don't look at you like a cheapskate like they do when you return you're bigscreen TV after the daytona 500.

OKAY thought about it today, i have an air compressor and impact gun and all the goodies. I can rent that spring compressor tool...
Front and rear struts? how bad can it be? Fairly rust free undercarrage..
Original ball joints though, going to have to use an angle grinder or something to remove the stock rivited in ball joints...i can manage that too...once shes all done, its alignment time..

Not bad at all. 2 bolts on top, 2 bolts on the bottom. Of course, if the bottom bolts won't budge, you have a problem. They are splined at the head of the bolt, drive them out.

Purchased the front struts today, rears are in on Wednesday, i got a 90 dollar mail in rebate as well as my discount...not bad..
fronts are the 71822 Sensetrac and the rears are71798 sensetrac.
So i can clarify this, the FSM and Chilton makes it look like the spring WILL stay on the strut once you remove the strut from the car, requring an external strut compressor of sorts..correct?
