Does this forum hate Bosch Platinums too? Our shop is a very anti-Bosch Platinum shop. We do everything we can to discourage customers from buying them, because we hate pulling them out right away because the car runs worse. We've had many, many problems with these plugs, even falling apart after less than 10,000 km and getting caught in exhaust valves, etc.

Many of us have also had many, many problems with them. Not just in our 3800'* either.

It shoudl be pointed out that ANY PLATINUM plug, bosch or other manufacturer including AC Delco or NGK, Autolite, or Champion should NEVER be used in forced induction (turbo, supercharged, Nitrous) applications.

Sailor, read this:

The second article sums up our 5 years of hell with Bosch quite nicely.

UPDATE: we went to swap the plugs tonight, got the front three done fine, got the back middle fine, and then hit a brick wall.

we were completely unable to get the necessary leverage/grip to pull those two plugs out. so im having to admit defeat [after three people tried for at least an hour, to no avail] for the night and take it to firestone tomorrow, provide them with my leftover plugs/wires and ask them to do the remaining two.

Please not Firestone. Pay twice that and have it done right, or others will chime in with the tricks.
