SLP HEADER CONFUSION
Will these headers bolt onto my 96 N/A?
http://www.intense-racing.com/Mercha...tegory_Code=EX
It says"2000-2003 Bonneville with 3800 Series II engine", but then says"1996-2003 LeSabre with 3800 Series II engine" :?: :?

They will bolt right on. Rather easily too.
There are a couple things to consider.
1. You will need to modify your front motor mount by removing the shock/dampener and part of the bracket going to the top of it. (Or cut away a ton of material around that dampener top. (We couldn't take enough off on my car to keep the dampener)
2. The piping coming off the downpipe is 3", sizing on your current piping/catalytic will be 2.5" or 2.25".
3. When the exhaust is off.. you will notice a heatshield held to the firewall with 2 10mm bolts. On my 97 Ei, there was a bump on that shield that lined up with the exhaust. Remove the bolts and gently look behind, I found a bracket with no reason. The bracket and bump were both "adjusted" for better clearance.
4. When using reverse you may have some rubbing. Tim at Intense mentioned it was common on our body style due to clearances. Having looked at it myself as well...there'* not anything that can be done.
Overall.. I found them easy to install.

Oh..and if you have any questions on items on the Intense website. I also suggest calling and talking to the team.
They will be able to answer nearly any question off the top of their heads.. it'* amazing the knowledge level. Awesome to say the least.

Thanks, Bill. Any advice is VERY appreciated! This will be done in about a month, when I get my tax refund. I've done headers on 3 of my motors in the past, but 2 were rwd, one was a fwd 4cyl. (LS1, DODGE 318, 2.2 Dodge turbo) So this will be an interesting challange for me. I just love how no one expects the black sedan to be fast! While I'm posting, how come Intense dosn't list a PCM for 96, but does for 97? I know I should just ask them, but I was wondering if anyone here knows. Is it because of the tranny difference between 96 and 97?

N/A'd 96'* and 97'* have the same 4T60-E trans, however the 96 SC'd has a 4T60E-HD while the 97 SC'd got the new 4T65E-HD.
Since Intense specializes in the 4T65'* and 97 was the first year it appeared in the Bonneville, I think that may have something to do with why the 97 NA'* got included...
I think I'm somewhere in the ballpark, but maybe others can elaborate/modify what I said.
By the way, you still do have options for tuning your PCM.
