My original plan was to have it rotated with the tubes sticking out the other sides, but then I saw that the tubes would stick out past where the SC mounts up, and I didnt want to deal with the consequences. Worse comes to worse and I can have the holes drilled slightly smaller so they will still work for there intended purposes just be ever so slightly more restrictive...I dont know of the disadvantages of the vacuum being slightly more restirictive in those 2 spots, but it cant possibly overcome the advantage of a cooler intake charge!!!

I think it would just speed up the air charge a little bit. Wouldnt the PCM detect the lack of air and try to suck more in to make up for the difference, if it made a noticable difference anyway

be honest with you im not planning on having the holes made that much smaller so if there would be a difference I imagine it would be negligible.

could you drill the holes for the vac line at an angle like / or \?

Maby, but it would still be 1 mm from the edge at the bottom......on a side note....it sure seems like alot of NA owners have some interest in this post....kind of strange I figured more L67 guys would want to know more about intercoolers and such....maby theres more views than posts I dont know.

we need all the brains we can get Would you rather me leave?

Talk to the guy who made the core and see if its possible to bend those tubes going in somehow.

NO NO NO I have no problem at all with more help, I am just tired of hearing SER1 L67 guys whine about not having mods readily available for our cars and an IC has always been the biggest whine (at least for me) and it just seems there is a great lack of interest...but maby after I get mine working and they see my evil plan has worked to better make BonEvil more EVIL then maby they will start to wander hmmm maby an intercooler IS a good idea......by the way what do you meen having the tubes bent.....they are already bent the only way they can be......the tubes will have to clear the injectors on there way in and out and the tubes are made of copper like the rest of the core so they are bendable.....I may even run the tubes out the front, im trying to decide what would be best for heat dissipation and compromise for fitment....a little harder for a SER1 less room physically than the SER2....I think when I get the plate done I will use some Hi temp RTV so seal the core in the plate and some gaskets and more RTV to seal the tubes coming out....Also I was toying with the idea of running the water in tube around the AC stuff so it would cool the water even more....just an idea at this point.........another good question would be, to use a form of coolant in the design. if so I will use the smallest amount coolant per water to further enhance the cooling effeciancy of the water...maby 75/25 Dexcool.....would keep it from freezing in the winter and will keep it from boiling under the intake. Now that I have this core im pschyched up about gettin this this accomplished.....just a couple more steps and its over......another thing that I was thinking was with my fuel rail cut and lenghtened the bottom portions will stay low so WTF am I goin to put my beautifull SC cover onto??? Dangit I dont want to sacrifice beauty for performance or the other way around....I WILL FIGURE THIS OUT

is it possilbe to bend the tubes coming out and then straighten them for the connection to the hose? Keep in mind you are sacrificing some airflow, have you thoguht about grinding the lower intake out a little?

The tubes have already been bent and ends straightened some fine tuning once the fuel rails are on is the only extra bending it may need.....not much if any...I know I will sacrifice some airflow with this mod like all intercooled SER2 owners are experiancing a small drop in boost pressure, probly expect about 1-1.5 psi in lost boost do to restriction but figure with a 2.2" pulley on a 95 I will WAY more than compensate for that, and a 2.2" is what I plan on trying with the IC setup after its all running and ive worked all the bugs out, I am hoping for 0* KR with a 2.2" pulley and maby 3-5* depending with a 2.0" pulley (about what some 94-95 guys currently experiance under certain conditions with a 2.5" pulley) Maby I am just dreaming and maby it will only allow a drop to a 2.2" with small KR about equivilant to what im likely getting now, but im going to be cautiosely optimistic. Im hoping for 14-15 psi boost with a 2.2" and possibly 17 or better with a 2.0" With that much boost I will likely have to do some valvetrain mods too, so in comes those ADM parts DrJay has been talking about.....SHAZAAM a SER2 killing SER1
Whach out Rogue (yeah right)
