Ok......some of you know that I've put alot of thought and design work into something along these lines. One of the products of this is an accurate 3D rendering of the M62 itself. And the beginnings of a much thinner plate than usual. I would be willing to show/share what I have so far, but dimensions won't be included. I won't share those until I verify them again with my own car (may start top-end teardown this weekend).

All this data/information came from a 95 Buick Riviera with an L67 that belongs to my boss.

Is anyone interested in seeing what I have so far? If so, I'll go get the file of my Workstation at work.

The whole point is that this is more of a precision dependent job than many may think.

I would like to see what you have. In my down time at work, I might be able to throw someting together with Pro/E.

What file format (extension) do you use? My software will do it all for import/export. You name it.

Step files are what I use to import fasteners. Or if you can do .prt files I can edit them. Step files just give me an imported feature that I can't do much with.

Oh, if it'* drawings, DXF'* are good, version 12, 13, 14, or 2000. DWG are better though.

I can export any 3D format. Haven't annotized 2D yet. I won't do that on the blower, just the plate.

You should be able to fully edit a *.stp file with your software, shouldn't you? What about *.pkg, bdl, igs, etc?

Maybe I can edit a step file, it'* just all I've done with them are imported features. Maybe that'* just the way they made them. Maybe an igs file would be ok, haven't messed with those.

I can do stuff with the part files from a step, but the object itself I can't do anything but delete. I can add features.

Ok as soon as I switch laundry loads, I'll run to work and get the files off my workstation, and at least post some screenshots here in this topic.

In the interest of staying on-topic, we'll take the CAD file compatibility discussion to another forum or offline.

LOL looks like it took quite a bit of work to pry willwrens "top secret" idea out into public view!
