Has anyone ever tried any of those engine oil/ tranny additives like ZMax or Prolong? I work in R&* Strauss in Jersey and hear that stupid infomercial all day, and was wondering as to their effectiveness.

Thanks for that one. Looks like I really dodged the bullet there. My friend bought it and refilled the bottles with water and food coloring, and returned it at another store....got his $39 back, but it looks like that'* gonna go towards fixing his engine in a little while....

David, that'* the ONLY mechanic in a can that I reccommend. That stuff really works in the right situation. Valve stem seals and scored cylinder walls can benefit from it.

Aha! Now I know what you are talking about. Last time I used something it was the valvoline stuff. That stuff worked awesome I thought. I might try them both (on different oil changes of course) and let you all know which I think is better.
