What are you looking to gain/do? It'* always best to evaluate where you want to do and what you are looking to do whenever possible. I'm a sporadic modder in that I spend double doing small mods and then a big mod lands in my lap. So off come the small things and on goes the big one. I learn a ton about modding and various setups...but it does cost a lot more in gaskets, time and effort.
Personally on an L36, the GT1/GT2 cam'* by ZZP are the way to go if you want power. A nice boost in power w/o going full cam is the ER rockers. The HV3 and N* TB have their merits...as well as a Plog.
In the end though..it'* a matter of how much are you looking for?

i already have cold air intake,msd coil packs/wires,exhaust,zzp hv3,zzp tb, and zzp pcm tune. i just want a little more because my buddy has a contour svt and i can pull like a half a car on him and i just want to beat him by more than that.

Depends on how much work you want to do. Rockers = fairly easy and fast install with respectable power increase. Cam = much harder install, might need some help, and has a bit more power than rockers. If you're going for straight up performance, cam is the way to go, it will pay off in the end.

Being a N00B at this I think you have to look at the power our transmissions can handle without upgrading them.
The rockers should up the HP by 15 to 20 WHP with the GT1 cam in the range of 20 to 30 WHP.
Personally I would not want to run more that an extra 25WHP through my stock transmission. I honestly do not know how much extra WHP can be delivered to the transmission before a failure will be a reality.
From a casual observation it seems that the guys with the most transmission problems actively race at the drag strip. This is understandable.

Our transmissions, the HD version, can handle about 300 hp. I say about 300. Lots of things need to be considered. Like tires. Narrow tires are easy on the transmission because your just spinning. Wide tires put more strain on the hard parts. Big wheels rip up a transmission, small wheels have more side wall flex in the tire. One wheel burns outs, kiss your diff good bye.

When it comes to the trans I would say the main factor is how the car is driven. I have seen tons of trans go out on stock cars at like 80k. Also, burnouts around corners = fast track to a blown diff. Just have to keep the pedal off the floor as much as possible.
