In answer to your question, there is some performance to be gained by upgrading to a High Flow catalytic converter. It'* performance increase is even more noticeable the more mods that are done. There is NOT enough of a gain to warrant risking the $2500 fine if you are caught. You may also wish to consider other mods, such as reworking the intake <makes the best noise if you ask me>, getting some PCM work done, etc. The sky is the limit.

I've run with and without. The difference isn't enough to feel or warrant removal...
Heck, the only differences I noticed with a high flow (when the car was reasonably stockish) was money out of my pocket and a louder exhaust.

Gutted my cat last year myself. With a missing muffler and a hollow cat, my neighbors didn't appreciate me starting the car everymorning at 430AM.

lol that prolly sounds close to what our stock car sounds like. Neighbors didn't like us starting that 8am when we was running it

I put in a Magnaflow cat. Didn't notice hardly any performance gain, and now at WOT I get a rotten smell. Some others have reported same.
