Bringing this one up again with another theory...
Would a weak alternator have any effect on performance? The positive connection post on my alternator came loose a few weeks ago, but we seemed be able to twist it a certain way so it was secure again. I've been running it that way with seemingly no problems, but at any given time my voltage gauge in the dash only points to about 12 volts (and I thought it was supposed to indicate just under 14?) and usually when I turn at low speeds or go from park to drive the voltage dips down below 10 for a few seconds before stabilizing back near 12.
So my question: Does any of this behavior sound suspicious, and could a weak alternator be causing me to have weak spark from the coils? Yeah... it sounds silly, but I'm trying to cover all my bases
