There'* also the issue of NA guys (like me) opening up their exhaust too much with headers. These suckers might be just what the doctor ordered for L36s.

Headers aren't going to "open it up too much". Especially tuned equal length ones. There will ALWAYS be gains from headers.

Mechanix gloves will help you guys out A LOT i'm sure.

Opening up the exhaust to a point where the velocity of the gases gets slower will hurt performance. Maybe not on the top end, but certainly your low end numbers will suffer. An L36 like mine would probably run slower in a 1/4 mile with headers than it would with PEMs.... at least that'* the impression I've been under for a while. If I'm way off base I apologize, but I think SLPs on a lightly modded L36 will give you a screwy power curve.

This is how I understand it, you only hit your torque peak once when dragging, and the rest of the race you're in higher RPM. That'* why most people run uncorked headers on good v8'*... Our upper RPM power is our engines biggest weakpoint too IMO. We can run with LOTS of people light to light, but on the freeway...

Headers give gains all over, because they "scavenge" where the cylinders are helping eachother.

93 manifolds do not need to be ported, as they were made correctly.

If I had the money, and the supporting mods, I would be all over it like bark on a tree.

Are you kidding, the Series II n/a manifolds are so crappy and mismatched, headers would be a big performance boost. You will probably gain low end if anything due to better scavenging.

Yeah, I agree with you here.... my argument is headers vs. PEMs. I'd take headers over stock manifolds any day of the week, but with my mods I have to wonder if PEMs would be a better overall match for my L36.
