Port the manifolds?
I'm thinking about doing this for the time being to my exhaust manifolds, just so there isn't that ugly lip the exhaust gas has to squeeze over when it leaves the heads. Would it be ok to just round out the ports with a dremel? Would the irregular surfaces after dremeling cause flow issues?

A dremel on your manifolds would be like trying to sand your fingernails with peanut butter. It'll take WEEKS. You need at LEAST a die grinder, and preferably a mill.
According to Hector'* work, you really only need to port the rear. Maybe just clean up the front.

I think the fronts are like that too. Seth showed me his old mani'* and that'* UGLY. Someone should be fired for making manifolds that bad. :?
PS Look inside the downpipe flange, you'll see the pipe just goes way in there almost 2 inches from the weld.
Dremels may work on aluminum but our iron engines are a PITA. Even with a grinder be sure to use A LOT of WD 40, or sufficient lubricant or you'll eat bits like they're on a salad.

I got a local GTP buddy who dremeled his front manifold just fine, but didn't ask him the specifics as to what benefits there were because I don't see him much anymore.

The front manifold is really restrictive, if anything just do the front as the rear manifold has very little to port out(there is some, but not as much as the front).
I'll kick myself in the butt to see if my buddy has those pics we took of the front stock vs. ported front manifold we took, there'* a HUGE difference.

what a way to narrow it down. I think if I were to do it in the first place, i'd pull both of them, and make sure they are both even.. that way there isn't a difference between the two.
