ok, here is what makes it so hard to do with the 92-95 bonnevilles. we have a series 1 engine. no one makes any internal performance parts for them, with the series 2, they make cams, 1.9 rockers, programmers instead of a fixed chip, ect.
i already made an EGR block off plate for my car 2 days after it blew open at the track.
right now im in the process of getting small block chevy valve springs and doing some research on the 1.7 ford pedestal rocker arm that crane cams make, i know i said the F word but i looked at crane cams rockers and the 1.6 chev and the 1.6 ford rockers are the exact same number, the 1.7 ford pedestal rockers just attach differently, i might have to get a valve cover spacer to mount themto gain clearance or if i can find aftermarket ones.(IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANY , PLEASE LET ME KNOW )
WE ARE JUST VERY LIMITED TO PARTS FOR MODS AND USUALLY HAVE TO DO THE R&D OURSELVES AND JUST HOPE THEY WORK.
i also think i figured out some of my KR too, my tensioner pulley is growling and at high rpms, it rattles, replacing it this week.

1.9 rockers are about 400 bux plus a $100 core till you return your old ones, they say it will add about 25 HP+

2000 SSEi:
K&N Air Filter, Thrasher 3.4" Pulley, I-Win 1.9 Rockers, Taylor 8mm Spark Plug Wires, AC-Delco 41-932 Plugs, Drilled 180 Thermostat, Gatorback Belts, Throttle Body Screen Removed
How much difference did the 1.9 rockers make
You mentioned it is still getting 5 KR. Was it more before the rockers.
Mine has the same mods except stock rockers.
Have you track tested it yet ?....or is Mom saying to use the GTP for racing instead.

Rockers may make a HUGE difference on your car, as i said, it varies from car to car. We put rockers on the GTP when it had similar mods to what the SSEi has now, and it made a huge difference. I would recommend getting them for your SSEi, you will be very happy with the purchase.

whats KR?
Pre-detonation causes knock. Knock is detected by the two or three knock detectors (accelerometers) that are strategically placed around the engine. When it'* detected, the computer retards the timing to protect the engine.
Most pre-detonation is not audible.
Knock is usually caused by a combination of high heat, heavy load, low octane, high compression, more boost, etc.
In my older Firebird, when it knocks, it sounds like a rattle or pinging sound. I have to use an octane booster.

there are other factors in knock retard too. an ilder pulley with a bearing going bad can cause it too.also anything that makes a vibration on the motor. loose brackets, bolts, alt noise, bad water pump, bad tensioner. right now im replacing all my idelr pulleys and tensioner pulleys.
