I don't know any exact specs, that is why I am going to him. He said he would need to find out what my engine condition was, what I want to do with the car. The advice I have been given is that I need to get more low end torque because of the high stall converter I had installed. My gearhead uncle suggested that I find a cam or get one ground to increase the spark w/o changing the duration. I was hoping that Geoff would know what specs would be needed. From my 2 or 3 conversations w/him, I felt like he would be able to help me. I need to find the time to go and get the cam that I have found at the U Pull It yard in Rock Hill.

If you have a high stall torque converter, you don't want to move the powerband down, you want to move it up. If your peak torque comes on at 2000 RPM and you've got a 2500 stall coverter, you're missing half your powerband. That equals LOWER performance and lots of wasted gas. If you want to keep your engine in the higher RPM range, go with a cam that makes its power there.
A high stall converter isn't such a great idea on a Series 1 though, as they're such low revving torque monsters. On a Series 2, maybe, but the Series 2 makes peak power at a higher RPM.

Ok, so frm where I am now, with the engine in really good shape, but a lot of miles and this torque converter already installed in a rebuilt tranny. I would probably be ok with getting a cam done that will raise my powerband? Will Geoff understand what I need or do I need to do my own research to figure it out or does anyone have any suggestions? :?

Find out what stall speed your converter has and go with a cam that will start your powerband at or a little bit above that RPM. Geoff should generally know what this will take for your engine. He should be able to give you an idea of where the power range of each profile is.
