non hd trans for */c motor
Can I use a non hd trans in a */c car I know there are some parts that are different but i was thinking I could use those parts from my old hd trans I was told the diff cover and output axle are different

Yes you could. But the non-HD version cannot handle the extra power from a supercharged engine.

son has been running a stock grand prix tranny in his gtp for a while. the tranny is virtually the same. the big difference is the axles are bigger in the gtp. but his will stand up to the power of the supercharger engine

You can use a non HD trans. But here is what you need to do. Remove the diff, diff cover, and output shaft on your HD trans. And install those on your non HD trans. Your done. It'* now a HD trans.

one more question what car should i get the trans out of for easiest install in my impala another impala / monte carlo or any 3.8

Make sure you have a compatible year, older ones have external PN switch, and newer ones have internal. Other then that the case is generally the same. You may need to transfer the mounts, but that is no big deal.
