with the FWI (or BWI or whatever) the less curves you have the better you will be. A long gradual curve would be the best way to do it. Could you use zip ties to put the PCM somewhere? Does it need something to block the heat? will the hole up by the headlights accomodate the pipe if its flexible? I am not sure about the Evap canister or what it even does, I bet they just put it there because it takes up too much space. If you have to have it in the engine bay consider wrapping it with something. Same goes for the PCM.

Interesting project you got going Kyle, first thing I thought was in that one pic I can see the ground, got to have some bottom shield in there. As for making a BWI Go for it, for the PCM, try to just move it back and on it'* side, might even wedge right next to the ne tubing your going to run. Not sure what to tell you about the evap.

When Todd Ataped me, I was seeing 5-10 over ambiant, I give all credit to this with the ram air tube to the box, before that I was 40-60 over ambiant.

Warning that the 3.5in is tight around the stock TB, it will fit though, kinda have to spin it on, but once it'* on good, almost dosen't need a clamp it'* so tight. I still clamped mine, might need to stretch the metal in the hose a little to make it fit. I did.

What does the evap do and is it needed? INTENSE can reprogram my PCM is look past the evap if needed.

I was thinking about mounting the pcm against the driver side fender or the washer bottle. I'm working on some sort of shield so you can't see the ground, however there the filter will be mounted at a more horizontal angle BELOW the headlight in the bumper. It won't point straight down.

how about putting a scoop underneath the bumper instead to push air up onto the filter. Taylor, you still had lots hotter temps even with the thrasher CAI?

Move your horn back on the drivers side Kyle. It'll give you some more room to play with, i don't know if you were there when I was showing the guys how i moved it. But there'* 4 horns in one of the buicks. The two we have, and two behind them. If you move the drivers horn behind the washer bottle, you free up some decent space.

someone new here did something like this using the evap hole, they just had the evap can sitting to the left of the hole in the engine bay.

Well Yes, with just the Thasher CAI the elbow off the throttle body isn't long enough to seal or even get close to fitting in the corner, had a nice 2.5 in gap around the whole box, had it like this for a while, finally cut the box some more and used Intense Tubing to extend the box over to the corner. Basicly making it fit right. If I did this off the bat, I'm sure the IAT'* would of been lower with the Thrasher CAI, but now with the 2 layers of insulation and the ram air collector to the box, I'm seeing darn close to ambiant, I'm happy with that.

BTW I think when Todd had his SLP box, his IAT'* where always +120ish if I remember, that was why he switched to the fender well. So we both achieved the same thing with different setups.

Do What ever you got to do to get fresh outside air in that filter, weither it be in a box, fender or BUMBPER!

building a heat shield for my car would be a pain, ther is so much in the way.


the right air dam for the rad is missing so i want to take advantage of the cool air that comes in ther.

Im thinkin about the BWI if we can get a spot for the charc. can.

Maybe move the evap and PCM to the side fenderwall in the fenderwell?

Where would I drill holes to secure it? I need ideas.

Still need to know if I can run fine without the canister. As far as I know its only for emissions...but they said the same thing about the EGR awhile back.
