There have been plenty of people that tried to blow an engine (V6, V8, whatever the case may be) without spending the cash to beef up the internals, and, yeah, it produced some really good power and go. The problem is that the durability just isn't there. This is something that is indeed tried and true, no matter what engine you're referencing.
The big V8 boys will not blow an engine without beefing up internals, plain and simple.

Let me throw this idea out there than. How about just throwing a walmart blower of sorts directly in front of the MAF sensor, giving the engine a little more air to work with. You won't get a 10 psi boost, but I would assume it would make a big enough difference that you'd feel it during acceleration, it wouldn't take all that much power either.
Safer for engine components and transmission.

any power that you take to blow the air will be taken from your alt, which is powered by the motor. its like trying to push yourself over, it doesnt work. conservation of energy. keep on thinkin

Just spend 600 bucks with Ed Morad and get an L67. Get a PCM from INTENSE and mate it to the stock tranny or spend another 400-600 with Ed and get and HD tranny. The stock tranny will hold the power for a while. We have a COCGP member that went INTENSE stage 3 with race block putting down low 12'* with his GT tranny for a long time.

The 4T65E transmission will take 12 second power for a long time but you have to upgrade the Diff for sure. The differential that comes with it is MUCh smaller than the HD version and will grenade i guarentee it.
My Fiance'* L67 GT put down 289HP / 354Ft Lbs of torque through a 50,000 mile GT transmission for another 12,000 miles before the top of first started to slip. We tossed in another GT tranny to keep the gear ratio and transfered over her INTENSE HD LSD.
Can you put a blower on the non supercharged one? Sure. Will it hold? Sure, just got to defeat the Knock you will get from higher compression... and basically get everything off the L67 other than the block itself, so I agree with rogue, get a whole motor with lower compression to be more friendly to the boost.
Cheers.
