interesting 10 minutes after I drove the car how much heat was still in the MAF. the rubber pipe and the K&N filter were cool to the touch. the rubber near the MAF was hot from the heat transfer.
Will have to look at the 3.5 flex house to the front fender.
I will have to search out the articles on moving the charcol filter. Is it better to put it on top or inside the filer?

ok put in a fram tough guard air filter for the moment, plus a new fuel filter. Made sure all the tires are aired up to 32 psi
then pushed the manifold boost down as mentioned in other posts. It was cocked and 1/2 inch up.
I think this helped the most so far. Now the boost kicks in earlier going up hills so that the car doesn't down shift so quick.
Did a 250 mile trip and got 26mpg! YES. We are getting their. next will be the 180 degree t-stat. Maybe the Delco O2 sensor.
I have to finish building my golf cart and then might order the Intense 3.5 rubber tubing to create a FWI

put in a new delphi 02 sensor 2 weeks ago.
no difference in overall gas mileage consistent 22mpg in commuting. I have lots of hills and corners to go around before I get to freeway.
ordered Intense 3.5 tubing today - see what a FWI does to power and mpg.
keep forgetting to order a 180 dregree stat
