Tires are key as well. I had old goodyears on before and they would light up @ 15mph easily.

hah, yeah burnouts with 2.84 is like impossible...but in rain... omg, i do so many when its wet..i feel my diff dying...thing is tho...is that my tires are not...exactly the best so sometimes i don't mean to get em spinning, they just DO...kinda sucks...but is it bad to shift gears while in a spin? because i've gotten em into third gear in a spin....not on purpose, just because I have this HUGE semi comin up on me qand I had to get GOIN

Uh, one of the reasons why the Buick GNX is so fast is because it does not do burnouts. When you're racing for the 1/4, you want to HOOK-UP; not slip.

well i was talking to a friend of mine and he said that i have so much torque that it will only hook up it wont spin but if i had more horsepower i could spin better

as for tires i have cheap firestones p185/75/r15

but put the two donuts on there and had a good smoke show going
so it can turn the little tires but it cant turn the 185'*

i have 215x65R15 on there now and i can chirp them for a little while like 2 feet or so.. lol

either your tires are Very very Sticky or theres somthing wrong with your car... :?
cuz with 185'* your should be able to spin those for a little longer then me... :?

well the thing is getting them to spin cause once they get going they dont stop
when it was super slick and wet out the other day i had the speedo sitting stuck at 65mph and i was only moving at about 30mph so once they get going its no problem but its just getting going i need help man i love doing burnouts but i feel i am hurting my car buy trying so hard and so much to get them to spin
and every time i try it just pics up and goes and then the next thing i know i am doing 70mph

well yes, you are hurting that car.. our NA cars arnt really ment to do burnouts.
and if your doing it with 1 tire, then your going to kill your diff.
If you realy want to do burnouts i would suggest getting a SC car..

Unless you have 1,500-3,000K to spend on rebuilding your tranny

SSEi'* and other L67 cars aren't really meant for burnouts either.

The best cars are those with a solid rear axle, positraction, or some other locked diff, and a V8 that has some HP.

it doesn't spin it more or less hops for a foot and then picks up and goes untill i back off of it at about 65mph

took her out last night and tried it : through down the emergancy brake and gave it some gas (with bleach on the tires) it broke lose within seconds and it just started going but i was in first gear and it was stuck at about 25mph but i was moving at about 5 mph and then i went back to the spot and realized that the right one was cooking good and the left one was spinning for about 2 feet and then grabed
the car didnt seem like it was struggling at all it could have went for miles but i only went for about 500 feet NOTICE: that the back wheels werent fully locked up and that i was on the old side of county line road out side of leland and that road only sees a car about every other hour, any way i went up and touched all four tires and they werent hot at all and i looked back at the mark and it was black as coal so once it gets going good it will keep going for a while

Your car wasn't meant to cook the tires. Buy an SSEi if you want to do foolish damaging things.

The worst possible thing you can do just happened. When one is roasting and the other isn't, you're horribly loading your differential on one side and not the other. That causes BOOM eventually.

If you can't consistently roast both at the same time, don't roast.

Your gear ratio and hp/tq are fighting you.
