LS1 MAF on a series 1 SC with mini AFC 2.0
Has anybody used the MINI afc from ZZP and used a LS1 or some other MAF? I know it works with the GTP. I own the AFC and have a "ported" TB and took out the MAF vane completly. Is there anybody who has acess to a dyno in the chicagoland area that wants to help me "dial in" this setup? Or any sugestions?

Can you make up an adapter plate? That would be hot.
If you get a scan tool, and check out your O2 voltages while driving, you can come close to tuning your car.
The voltages should be around 750- 800 mV if i'm not mistaken. So if you can get your voltages to top out in that range, in idle, cruise, and WOT(maybe alittle more like 820 mV), then you should be pretty good. But of course the dyno and wideband O2 would benifit you the best.
Hope that helps.

As I'm reading they're talking specifically WOT, which is where you'll see numbers that high. At idle and cruise the computer tries to get the o2 to always read 500mv. This is the reason your fuel trims bounce around. At WOT the PCM ignores the o2 and goes off a set pulse width, which is why at WOT the fuel trims are steady.

Well with the afc the other day, i was tuning it down so that the MAX voltage reading was between 750-820 from idle to 3/4 throttle.
Is that a bad idea?

85mm is kinda HUGE though.
Does the inside of your TB look like this?www.turnertkg.com/tbpics/finish1.jpg
If not you could grind it out the post to look like that and re install the maf.
I know you have a ported TB, i just don't know what you did so that'* why i ask.

yea. I ported my stock one also. Really I own 2 TB. I got one from canadian SC for $50 when i thought my TB was an issue. I ported the stock one all to hell. I don't feel that it gets a correct reading without the vane (i could be wrong). So i thought maybe the LS1 MAF with a vane would read better and be less restrictive. Since I plan on )hopefully) using an intercooler with ported exhaust manifold or headers. I'm ordering the rockers with dr.jay and I run a smaller pulley. Do I pull enough air for the LS1 MAF to work correctly? My mini afc is set to the LS1 curve to run with GTPs so could i use it? Then we could smooth out the holes in our TB (epoxy or aluminum weld). If this works it would be very usefull on heaver moddod motors (if i'm correct.)

I think the LS1 maf would be able to work fine with afc tuning. But i also think that a bare maf without the vane in your TB could work with afc tuning. That ls1 maf is larger than 3.5" if i remember my conversions. That size transition might hurt you. Just a suggestion i'm not positive.
I don't think you would have any problems getting it to work. If you've got the $$ to try it out then i'd say go for it.
