The cars must be street legal and must be registered in NY. Last year we turned a lot of heads when we turned up in a 1991 Geo Storm. They all laghed when we pushed it out of the trailer but they wernt laghing when they herd the motor fire over and shake the windows of the registration trailer. We droped an LS1 crate motor in this poor little car and still made the exterior anyway look loke factory. It passed emissions and we were able to get it registered just in time but I don't think I will ever try that again. Took 6 months of fab just to get the darn motor to fit under the hood let alone the trany and rear end on a front wheel drive car.
There is a turbo kit for the L36 but I'm not sure if it fits in the Bonneville engine bay. It was more designed for the Grand Prixs. If you want to Supercharge it it will be more than just a simple bolt-on though. Luckily, though you are NA, you're a Series 2 and there'* more available...but it will be very tough to compete with a Vette, unless we're talking like C3 era circa 1981.

Default Thought about swaping Motors

I thought about trying to transplant an ls1 but the problems would be the same as my last one the 1991 LS1 Storm and I dont want that headache again. The car only has 45000 miles on it and has a lot of pep for a stock v-6. Mabye just mabye we can get this car up there without having to break the bank but the odds already look in the 20000+ range but luckaly we have a budget of 35000 so we shall see what happens.

No problem. We have staff that looks out for things like that.

You don't need to type a new subject for every post in a thread

I can tell you guys are serious after what you did to the Geo. With a budget of $35,000 you could definitely do an LS1 swap. An LT1 has successfully been transplanted in a 95 Bonneville with a Caprice rear end chassis. It can be done, and you obviously have the money. It would be nice if you were starting with an L67, but like like I said, with $35,000 of modding money...you could go crazy!

L67 drivetrain - $1500 (hopefully)

The fastest bonneville ever is being sold right now parted out, with the blowzilla..check intenses website, it ran a 10.7 at the track with just the supercharger no spray or anything.

you'll need cam, heads, rockers, headers, exhaust, PCM, bla bla bla

but I'd find a L67 drivetrain ASAP. build it up then drop er in, I'm sure if you talk to Zoomer at ZZP or Todd/Scott at INTENSE they will let you know, give them a ring....

The only wall that we are runing into is time last year we got a ealy start but this year we just got our donor car and we don't have much time thats why I want to see if I could put enough upgrades on the stocker but mabye we will hve to put in alot of late nighters to transplant the motor. Thanks though. Keep sending me Ideas though because we start tearing into this thing on Monday and this weekend is all brain storming. I'll let you know what we decide to due but the end choice is mine. The advantages of being the Owner.

call the local yards and find an L67 drivetrain.

then make a call to scott cook or todd allen or Zoomer at ZZP make your choice. INTENSE is more familier with the bonnevilles, they have/had the fastest one ever.

In order to really get that thing down to a modded corvette you will need a different blower other than the M90..

intenses ad:

Kenne Bell 2.2 Litre Blowzilla Supercharger
Includes blower, Custom IC Core and intake manifold. Used on our BadSSEi Bonneville to go 10.7 in the 1/4.
$5000 Shipped.

ready to go!

then all you need is heads, cam, rockers, etc..... random other stuff associated with that and the car will be in the 10s if you take some weight out.

The only thing is that it has to look stock from the exterior and has to be able to pass NYS emmissions to be ran at this race that gives us a little advantage due to the vetts can only due so much before they violate the emissions test
