Sory I didn't get a chance to get on yesterday. Busy day. Had to renew my suburban registration and get the bonne inspected. Now what doubts would anyone hve of me. My shop is a one bay garage nothing grand but hopeing soon to build a new 4 bay iff land purchase goes through. The phone # my son listed is the correct # but it was turnedx off last month duee to my inability to pay. As far as my sons knowledge on automotive issues, I have been a mechanic for as long as he has been alive. I mostly did diesel worh though but since he could understand what daddy was doing with the old Grand Prix that I had he has almost always been there trying to help. The only thing he races though is his mouth and pretends to race his quad around the property. My vehicles consist of a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville almost bone stock, a 1999 Chevy Suburban with a 3" body lift and headmaster headers, a 1981 Yamaha 250 Exciter motercycle, and my newest addition a 1969 Pontiac Firebird that I just purchased for $1200. It is in very rough shape. I need to replace the floors, the trunk, and almost any other part on the underside. There is no motor or trans but my wife got it for me as a present so I'm not going to complain. If you have any questions please feel free to call me between 9am and 5pm everyday at 585-567-4146. Yes it is my home phone but it works as a starting point for my shop. I am not going to put alot of money into a phone for the bis until I get a little bigger and a little more stable income. I have tought about going back to work for my old job at Roadway but I like working for myself and haveing the flexability that I need with my wife and kids. For me family comes first everthing else can wait.

No further doubts should be posted. Keep it offline if you need to discuss drama.

I've exchanged PM'* with him, and can verify that he is indeed legit.....THIS time.

It'* good to have another mechanic on the Forum. Might prove useful with him being in a highly-populated BC area, eh?

Awesome. Glad to see you are here to stay.

I am also a pretty good mechanic, just that this is my first 90* GM V6 with OBD 1.5 and I still have to get used to it. I plan to be ASE and Goodwrench certified soon.

Good luck on your certifications they will be very usefull in the automotive career feild.
Any questions you have for repair, upkeep ,or just hitting your head on the wall and can't figure out just give me a call and I will ty to help you. I know I've been there before. When I first got started the first thing I learned was if you run into a problem that you can't figure out move to something else and then come back 9 thimes out of ten the answer will be obvious when you return to it.

I've used that same technique for years. Never make a snap decision. Step away from the problem. The solution will come to you later.

How is everyone today. This was a nasty cold day here. I had to actually were a jacket on my tow job this morning. Has anyone ever had problems with starting with the 2000 bonne. I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator about a year ago and it solved the problem. I had already tried replacing the fuel filter thinking mabye it was cloged but the dealership were ipurchased it told me about the problematic fuel pressure regulators. Now here it is a year latter almost to the date and having the exact same problems. Does anyone know about an aftermarket regulator that I wont have to replace evry year.

If you haven't done so, you might want to start posting in relevant areas to receive the best feedback. Try the 2000-2005 section under Mechanical and Maintenance part of the forum.
