Maybe the harmonics of the 105# springs?
Or..
You definitely don't have an exhaust leak right?

I dunno bout the springs.

I cant hear an exhaust leak, but i guess it maybe possible. Is there any way to check say the manifolds to make sure they arent leaking. I did reuse the gasket on the front for the plog so i mean maybe. Can i like spray it kinda like checking for a vac leak. any suggestions?

ive never tried it for exhaust, but would the soap water trick work on hot exhaust? it should.

TJ, an exhaust leak will tick. You should also see carbon tracing near the leak on the cylinder head. Use a flashlight and a mirror on a dark night (no ambient light).

Don't rule out cracks in the rear manifold.

Don and I were talking about the possibility of a wrist pin. He had the same symptoms on his with that as a root cause.

maybe on cold manifolds, but definitely dont try that on aan already warm engine.

and would that leave a dis-coloration on the em'*?

see what confuses me, is this motor ran perfet before the cam install. No hiccups at all.

So that is why i am thinking something cam related. not enough fuel, possible exhaust leak, bumped a knock sensor on motor reinstall, ect, ect.

Don't discount the possibility there could be a problem with the cam itself. It'* possible it wasn't ground right and maybe a lobe is off causing a lifter tick deep in the engine that only the knock sensor can pick up. There are all sorts of things that could be wrong here, mechanically, that could be causing this false KR. But like I said before lets get the fuel taken care of and then see what can be done with the KR.

Concerning finding exhaust leaks, I have a trick way of doing this. Go get yourself one of those automotive stethoscopes that has the mini-megaphone looking attachment for it. Then, with the engine running, move this probe over all exhaust components and mating surfaces to see if you can hear anything puffing out at the probe. This thing also works great for finding vacuum leaks or narrowing down rocker ticks.

I'm right there with you on the need for bigger injectors, TJ.

With all my little nickel-and-dime L36 mods (PLIM, PEM, L67 TB, GAB/K&N, 2.5"DP, hi-flow cat) plus SR rockers, my WOT IPW'* lead me to believe that, once I ditch the rockers and go to a GT1 cam, I'll need bigger injectors, too.
