At the track I trick the air ride system. I get under the back of the car and disconnect the autoleveler arm from the suspension then hold it up untill the car stops going up. then i unplug the compressor under the hood and it stays like that. makes the *** end very still and cuts way down on squatting. As far as actuall times that this helped with, not sure my front tires were so bald at the time that 15.307 @ 89.96mph was the best i could do. Besides that trick i do have a MSD DIS-4 that has a staging rev limiter but when i was at the track The rev limiter was not run into the car yet. I figure that should save me a tenth.

I usually ramp to 2000-2400 RPM as I get yellows down the pole, with a light left foot on the brake. It very similar to running a clutch in anything else, but don't try this unless you have NO tranny problems. Preferrably after you replace the crappy factory diff with a locker and the torque converter. SLP has a good TC, but look around. I'm sure you can find one a little less expensive.

Well.. it really depends on your tires and road condition. Since most of mine is done on normal untreated streets.. I find best to take traction control off left foot brakin and only rev about 1500 - 2000 RPM since I can't stomp on the gas without breakin traction ( or traction control kickin in if it'* on ) ( Maybe cause I don't have those kick *** expensive tires ) I find that general rule of thumbs is that I depress the accelarator to full in about a second from my holdin position.. as so I will have maximum traction.. to be honest.. it'* best to simply practice so you know how it feels on your car and how she reacts.. since tire pressure is also a key for maximum traction and fuel economy.. make sure you're front is inflated properly.. and usually over inflate your rears to have less resistence from road contact ( but that'* not good for everyday driving cause you don't want to rear end breakin loose in emergency ). the only thing I need other then mods at the moment is to invest in gettin a shift kit to help shiftin lag in between gears since I notice that it takes too long to my lickin as it free revs for a bit between gears before it upshifts.

My tires need replacement (All-season Firestones) so I just let the engine idle and when it turns green I give maybe 3/4 throttle and ease it to WOT just so I don't spin the tires. Then at the top of first gear (around 30mph) I flip the nitrous switch....but this may not apply to you.
Mainly, try not to spin the tires. I also suggest drifters method if your tires can grip well.

Whoa!
Flip the nitrous in first :?:
I know this is
but when I asked about it was suggested that nitrous be used once you drop into second allowing for a greater RPM range, something like 2500-5000 RPM in second.
All to help in that launch...see, its OK to fall behind half a car length at launch, then smoke your opponent once second gear falls in...
No? correct me if I'm wrong

In my 1994 SLE na I give about 1/2 throttle and as soon as I am going about 15-20 I chomp down all the way. Going to half throttle from the start I can get a little tire chirp and the tires are fighting between holding traction and breaking loose, and at 15-20 when it really doesn't fight that anymore I go wide open and it will chirp them again or even start to fry (if this occurs I back off to 3/4). The cycle starts all over gain once it is floored @ 15-20.
I find that after it hits second there is more torque, causing the car to accellerate faster, if I back down from full throttle to 1/2-5/8. Doing that in second feels almost like a stronger pull than even the best launches from a dead stop.
Again, my car is not supercharged, so it will most likely be a different story with a supercharged car.
Anyhow, this is my technique.

So in a nutshell.. you're hittin NOs just before it upshifts to 2nd.. and so therefore by the time the NOS gets into the combustion chamber.. you'll just have engaged 2nd gear...
